Photographer's comments : This Boeing 707 of the Israeli Air Force flew to Prague today to pick up Martin Davidovič's remains. He was born in 1927,, unlike many relatives, survived the Auschwitz and Mauthausen concentration camps, and in 1948 he joined volunteer units in Czechoslovakia for the future Israeli army, but died in training. He was declared the first fallen Israeli paratrooper by the Israeli army in 2001, and will now be buried in Israel. |
